Multiple reports stre sed talks were in the early stages, but Yahoo Sports’ Jeff Pa san added “momentum for Stanton to (the) Yankees is significant.”Rumor, Dec. 8:Fox Sports’ Jon Morosi reports that Stanton has officially rejected to waive his no-trade clause that would put him in a Giants uniform.Official, Dec. 8:The St. Louis Cardinals officially pulled out of the race to land Giancarlo Stanton. Cardinals CEO Bill DeWitt put out a statement in which he declared the team has given up trying to trade for the Marlins slugger.Rumor, Dec. 7: Craig Mish of Siriux/XM Radio reports that Stanton would approve a trade to four teams, and none of them are the Giants or Cardinals. Instead, they’re the Dodgers, Yankees, Cubs and Astros.Rumor, Dec. 6: Alex Pavlovic of NBC Sports Bay Area reports the Giants anticipate Stanton will decideby the end of the week.Rumor, Dec. 5: Craig Mish of Sirius/XM Radiohas full details on names and money in a potential Giants-Marlins trade for Stanton. Giants would sendTyler Beede, Heliot Ramos, Chris Shaw and Christian Arroyo to Miami.Rumor, Dec. 3:Jon Heyman reports that we should hunker down, because a decision from Stanton won’t be coming for at least another week.Rumor, Dec. 3:Fox Sports’ Jon Morosi reports that deals are in place with Miami between both St. Louis and San Francisco for a trade. This is all pending Stanton’s approval, of course.Rumor, Nov. 30:FanRag Sports’ Jon Heyman reports(first fromSiriusXM’s Craig Mish) that San Francisco Giants executives are currently meeting with Stanton’s representatives as to whether or not he would waive his no-trade clause to head to the Bay Area.Rumor, Nov. 29: The Miami Herald reports that the Marlins have warned Giancarlo Stantonthat if he refuses to waive his no-trade rights and accept a deal thenhe risks being stuck on a stripped-down, rebuildingteam.Rumor, Nov. 28: NBC Sports Boston’s Evan Drellich, citing a source with knowledge of the team’s thinking,reports the Red Sox are “an extreme long shot” to acquire Stanton.Rumor, Nov. 28: Derrick Goold of the St. Louis Post-Dispatch reports the Marlins may grant the Cardinals permi sionto make a sales pitch to Stanton if the sides get close on a trade. St. Louis remains one of the top pursuers for Stanton, who has full no-trade protection and reportedly isn’t interested in playing in St. Louis.Rumor, Nov. 27: MLB Network’s Jon Paul Morosi reports Stanton has given the Marlins a list of teams to which he will agree to be traded, and that the Dodgers are on the list. (Stanton is a native of Southern California.) It’s not known what other teams are included.
