Initial work will be carried out to elicit the technological requirements of SMEs by providing the RTD performers with a further definition of the tools to be developed. The RTD performers in collaboration with the SME associations will develop the set of OSH-related tools of the IMOSHION project.
This will include:
- (a) an OSH knowledge and learning management system,
- (b) a workplace simulation for experimenting and training on OSH issues,
- (c) an immersive training and learning tool for OSH procedures, and
- (d) a planning tool for OSH prevention at workstation and workplace levels.
Part A, the knowledge and learning management system, will be developed to collect relevant OSH information, to add new aspects to it and to make it available for all parties involved. The proper supply and dissemination of this data will be ensured through a customized design of the system which facilitates the utilization for the SMEs as well as a learning management system. This part supports training of employees in OSH issues.
Part B, the workplace simulation, helps engineers design safety procedures during the planning phase and train employees to behave correctly in the case of an emergency situation.
Part C, the immersive training and learning tool. An immersive training environment will be developed to make users of machine equipment in manufacturing and production environments aware of OSH issues and procedures. To provide a training environment close to the real environment, a 1:1 scale with adequate visual realism will be created.
Part D, the planning tool for OSH prevention, supports SMEs to optimally design the work environment; and takes into account OSH issues next to issues of performance (productivity, order lead time, efficiency, flexibility) in the early design stage. This tool consists of two parts concerning more specifically the design of workstation and workplace layout. From a system point of view, this tool will be extended to support communication with the other IMOSHION tools (KMS/LMS and workplace visualisation).
The SME associations will support validation, training as well as dissemination activities to transfer the project results to their SME members and beyond.
